Help on US History!!!?

Hi I'm in 8th grade, second day of school and we already got US history homework... It's not actually US history, but still...

What important differences set the Democrats and the republicans apart?

What's the US political system like?

What's the US economic system like?

Our economic system is referred to as a free enterprise or free market or capitalism.  It allows the market to set prices of goods. It is based on supply and demand. The govt does not control the market at this time.  Our political system is a representative republic--often mistakenly called a democracy.  We have three branches of govt in an attempt to keep any branch from becoming too powerful. There is the legislative branch which makes the laws. That is our congress. There is the executive branch which includes the president who ratifies bills to make them laws. It also includes his cabinet members. The other branch is the Judicial branch which determines if a law is constitutional. When each branch stays within its assigned powers things go well.
