Question:

Help on Wi-Fi Set-up?

I’m currently using Streamyx with Aztech ADSL2+ Modem/Router. Recently, I bought another Aztech Wireless Broadband Router (802.11b/g).

I want to set up a bridge connection so that I can surf the internet using Wireless. I’m truly new to wireless setup, so after setting up the Wireless Broadband Router, I managed to connect to the wireless network, but failed to log on to the Internet.

Does anybody know what the problem is? When I view the wireless network status, I noticed that the “sent” packet data is few hundred times more compared to the “received” packet data.

Do I need to configure the Wireless network properties? If so, what do I need to setup? IP setting, etc. Hope somebody can give me step by step instructions for a dummy like me.

Thank u..

  1. just connect the RJ45 cable from your old ADSL to your new Wifi in Wan Connector (insted of Lan) and logon to wifi router and run the setup wizard.after router restarts wait for few min then check browsing or restart all of your system just to re confirm.

  2. Run hardwire between the routers.  Bridging is still a "pain in the rear for networks."  Just be sure that DHCP is turned off on the secondary router.

It will be on by default and needs to be off, otherwise the router won't find you.  And you must be found by the router, or no joy.  Luck.

  3. your ISP has to connect the router to the internet, so ring them up.

  4. Provide the Model numbers of both units please.
