  1. 1. 3/4 x 1/6 x 8/7 = 24/168 = 1/7.  So the answer is  C.) 1/7.

    2. (3/4)/(1/3) = 3/4 x 3/1 = 9/4.  So the answer is B.) 9/4.

    3. 7/8 = 0.875

When rounded up to the nearest 1/100 th, 0.875 ≈ 0.88.  So the answer is C.) 0.88.

    4. 20% of $125,000 = $25,000.  So Edith's mortgage was $125,000 - $25,000 = $100,000.  So the answer here is B.) $100,000.

    5. To find the % increase, just divide the new rent amount by the old amount.  Then subtract 1 from that result and multiply the remainder by 100:

    $950/$875 ≈ 1.0857

    1.0857 - 1 ≈ 0.0857

    0.0857 x 100 ≈ 8.57% ≈ 8.6%.

So the answer here is C.) 8.6%.
