this website i just read and i still dont understand can anyone sum this for me was it caued by something or was man made?

It may have been caused by erosion- wind, glacier, or water when there were oceans. It wasn't man made, but people were simply interested in it b/c they thought it resembled a human face. Some people thought it was a sign of martian life, like the martians had sculpted this face. So NASA had to go take pictures in higher resolution and in better conditions to show what it really looks like.
