ok. my friend and i are taking a week long surfcamp that works with foam boards. im not really into the fact that i might end up buying a soft syrfboard. so i decided, hey, why not get a regular surfboard [aka- not softboard] well heres my info:

height: 5'1"

wieght: 82-84lbs

age: 13< note that i havent reached growth spurt.

so should i get a longboard? i have no clue. im okay with price ranged up to $600 but anything higher is bleck. thanks. please take the time on helping me choose what type of surfboard, how tall, how thick the surfboard should be, etc.

thanks :]

  2. softboards are good if your learning.

and dont buy a h**l good one if your just starting, your gonna drop it, bang it into things, ride into rocks and all sorts of stuff when your learning. you should use a longboard, about 6' or a bit bigger

  3. long boards are right below softboards for beginners so long is the way to go. You should get one that is about 6' long.

  4. I'd get a longboard if you're a beginner. The smaller ones are more for the experienced and can do tricks but harder to catch waves. On a longboard you can catch just about any wave any size easily.

  5. second hand cheap crappy long board. you're bound to drop it and get dings.
