Help on electric guitar????

i have a guitar and it has some few bad scratches on it. its all black. do you think its a good idea to paint over it? or what should i do to fix it?

if the scratches do not affect the sound i would not do anyhing to it

I'd leave it alone. I have a sunburst DXMGT (Jackson) and it has small chips and some nicks here and there but it's a trooper and still sounds good. Don't bother trying to paint it over unless you feel its real bad..even so, get it professionally done ($$$$) if you choose to *few careful layers of paint plus clear coat is the only thing i'll say if you want to do it*. I honestly cant tell you how to 'fix it' but i actually dig the look (it's not that bad, but up close, you will be able to tell). Anyway, enjoy.
