My friend Brittney is from Ontario Canada. Her family is having a really rough financial time at the moment and she's looking to get homeschooled. The problem is, she can't afford the 500$ per course c**p. If ANYONE at ALL can help us out please give us some information on a cheaper alternative.

  1. That would depend on elementary or high school level.  If elementary.  I would absolutely not purchase a thing. There are a lot of free resources online, if you just type in exactly what you're looking for "ending with lesson plans"

If high school and she is seeking an online course, here is something to look at

    Virtual Learning Centre

    http://www.virtuallearning.ca/

External schools are able to enroll students in courses offered in TLDSB. Students need to self register online using the Select Course & Register option above. Schools need to support this registration by completing and returning

My friend is homeschooling her son at high school level and paid 50.00, the way it works is if you pass one grade, the 50.00 is carried forward to the next grade and so fort. In the end of high school, you get back that 50.00.. and my friend highly recommend this online school.. we are in canada as well. so check it out.

  2. Is she looking at virtual schooling?   Here's a list of all the highschools that offer virtual educations in Ontario

  3. How old is your friend?  She doesn't have to pay $500 per course.  She could go to the library and get many things there. Your friend could also find many things online and she should join a homeschool group in her areas, many people are getting rid of books etc that they may not need any more.
