Question:

Help on job application!?

I'm 14 years old and I live in CA. I'm applying for a job at a boba (tapioca drink..thing) place. I need help filling out some of the questions!

1. It asks if I was referred to the company, is that like..who told you about it?

2. It asks when I attended highschool, and if I graduated. I'm only a freshman. They put it like this: From:_______ To:______. So, do I put the year I started (2007) and the year I'm going to graduate? (2011) Or do I put what I already attended, like 2007-2008.

3. It asks for previous employment, but this will be my first job, so do I just put N/A?

4. Am I supposed to get a work permit BEFORE or AFTER I turn in the application..

5. What kind of questions do you think they'll ask at the interview? It's not a formal business type place, just a hang out place with some food and boba drinks. So, what should I wear, etc!?

*Add any other helpful information please! :)

Also, don't tell me I'm too young to work! I know I can legally work.

  1. 1. Yes. They are looking for who told you about the job, like an employment agency or someone that works there.

    2. 2007 to Present

    3. None. But you can put in any volunteer work with similar exeriences.

    4. After you turn it in. Download the work permit application online: http://www.cde.ca.gov/ci/ct/we/documents... Fill it out, have your parents sign it, take it to the job, have them sign it, then take it to your school and have them make you a work permit.

    5. They'll probably ask you why you want to work there. What makes you think you'll do a good job, how old you are (it's not usual to hire a 14 year-old in CA.), etc. They might ask you ta take some kind of personality test. Wear nice casual clothes. Something your parents would like.

Although you are legal to work, they don't have to hire you. The hours they can have you work are pretty restricted.

  2. 1) Yes wants to know who told you about the job, if no one did just say "walk in"

    2) Put 2007 - Present

    3)Yes N/A

    4) Before preferably

    5) One question most employers ask is, "Why do you want to work here?" Also "What do you think you will bring to the team here?"

    6) Smile, be polite, have good posture and be yourself!
