  1. I've had a similar problem to this one and I could be right but no promises... When I had that problem I noticed my first move on the downswing was to get down into the shot and bend my knees, what that did was cause me to not be able to clear my hips and every shot was a big right to left (I'm a lefty) so I started concentrating on standing tall through the downswing and everything straightened right up. Could be right could be wrong, but remember there's no such thing as a good golf swing without good tempo so focus on that too.

  2. you are probably opening or closing the club face so check into that first. then check if the club face is square to your target and your feet are parallel to the target

  3. I bet you are getting great swing advice. ehow.com has a great swing section as does many major golf sites. But, in my opinion, the best way to improve your swing is to be able to practice, experiment and discover by practicing several times a week with as many balls as you choose to hit.

The only problem with that is that most people can't get to the golf course. So I think the biggest secret in golf right now is the almostgolf ball. You can now practice nearly anywhere there is open space without breaking windows or denting cars. thats pretty revolutionary and if you just practice 15-30 minutes a day in a convenient location, (walking distance from home) you will definately improve your swing quickly.

    Best of luck

  4. As a coach this is so difficult to answer without showing!!

The first movement on the downswing must be to shift your weight from your "non target" leg (right  for right handed players) on to your "target" (left) leg.

Try this - you can do it right now without a club.  Take a backswing to about 75% of a full swing and hold it there.  Check to feel that your weight is predominantly on your right side.  If so now without moving your arms at all shift that weight over to your left or target.  To do this your hips must move left and you will notice that your shoulders and arms automatically commence on the downswing.

That is the start of the downswing.  The rest and the follow through is simply a matter of turning your shoulders throug.  Don't use your arms they will follow naturally.
