  1. I'll give you advice as this is your personal statement and you should write it compared to your own experiences.

A mate of mine started with why he wanted to be a doctor. He wrote a paragraph about how, as a kid, he manged to get a peanut stuck up his nose without him realising (don't ask how), and it was only until several weeks when he was at his GP, that the doctor smelt this weird smell and found this peanut stuck up his nose. True story. He got 4 interviews too!

I myself wrote about how my attributes made me suitable for medicine and when I first got interested in it.

This is what the majority of medics at my school started off with. Whatever you do, don't drive straight in with your grades/work experiences. Give a little background of yourself and try to show how much you want to become a doctor, but whatever you do, don't lie and make up a story like the one above unless you have the personality to match. They will trip you up if you lie.

You can always ask your career adviser at your school for advice too.

Best of luck writing the statement.

(bit early isn't it? only started writing mine when the term started)

  2. Go watch the movie 21...LOL

    Just joking...
