Help on planning vacation..need help!?

I'm getting ready to buy a ticket for my yearly vacation to America from Italy. I've always flown Alitalia but considering they aren't doing too well these days and aren't exactly the most reliable company out there....my question is, from personal experiences what are the better airlines right now...british, virgin atlantic, continental, ect? Any input would be greatly appreciated!

All those do seem fairly stable. I would suggest looking around for a travel insurance that covers you for travel provider insolvency. That way if the airline you do chose to fly with goes under you haven't lost your money.
