Help on putting movies on plain dvd rw?

Question

ok so i have a dvd player supporting pal ntsc or something like that but when i get my movie in pal format and burn it my dvd player reads the disc but not the movie and the problem is that there are so many pal formats and ntc something doesnt work pls give me a step to step gudide from converting all the way to burning and no answers like "cant help ya" or" i dont know!"
