Help on serves!!!!!!!

How can i get a really good serve do you have any tips??

Try working on a kick serve. The sound of a good kick serve is when it sounds like your strings are moving. More power equals less spin. Toss the ball like its going to land on your right ear (if your right handed), go straight up on it, and snap your wrist out to give it extra kick. Also, you need to keep your head up extra long, so watch the ball till after you've hit it. If it goes into the net, your usually dropping your head to early (the same is true with regular serves) Takes some time to get down, but the more you practice the quicker it comes. You will increase your serve percentage tremendously if you just keep your head up all the way til you hit it. Hope it all works out for ya!

There are lots of bits that you can work on individually to help your serve but as a coach for many years now the one thing that separates the good servers from the bad is the ability to throw.

I don't mean the ball toss (as many people wrongly confuse), I mean the ability to "throw the racket".

The serve is a throwing action and your ability to throw as well as you can is the 1 single thing that will determine whether you end up with a good serve or not!!

So get on a court or in a field or anywhere you can throw tennis balls etc and practise throwing.

You will not regret it!

Use your legs they help increase speed...shift your your weight from your back leg to your front one as you hit the ball( This will increase the speed of your serves....also hit the ball at the highest point of impact( I thought I had this down until I stood up strait held my racque up and saw how high I needed it....Finally focus on where the ball will go in the court this helps with accuracy... Bring your racket back as far as you can before you need to swing to hit the ball
