    4. yes

  2. Lucky bamboo is very hardy. They do best in cool moist places with high humidity. I have had 4 of them for years. I potted mine as soon as I got them. In the winter I keep them in my room with a plant light. In the summer I put them outside. They can tolerate dry and hot but they don't like it. They don't grow as well as when I keep them inside where I can spray them. Enjoy them they live a long time.

  3. Hi

I have had the same lucky bamboo plants for 3 years, and they are thriving........so I guess I can answer this in confidence.

How often to water?  I water it every week........enough so that the roots are covered (roots are white, with sometimes pink or orange colour as well)

Is it ok to leave in its container?  Yes! do not ad to soil you will kill the bamboo.  They are a water plant so they love water all the time around the roots........soil is bad for them,,,unless you put in a pinch to add some nutrients to the water,,,,,  just a pinch and no more.........

is it safe in your room?  Yes,,,,,,why not.  they need some light, not much,,,even partial shade.

how much sun a day?  well,,,,,,,,however much in a day......just place it by a window........and let mother nature provide the light.

to relocate?  Yes they can grow tall....... what I do is just snip the tall branch off (bamboo grow about 2 or 3 branches.  Put the branch in water,,,,,,,and do the same as above,,,,,you will have lots of healthy and nice bamboo.

Please note,,,,,,,every 2-4 months change the water completely...this means dump all of it out then add clean water.  Add a pinch of soil for nutrients.  Keep the roots wet at all times.  I also used some "plant nutrient" sticks......I break little pieces off and throw them into the water........the plants thrive.  In the time I had my bamboo (3 years) they grew about 3 and a half feet.................they are easily maintained........and beautiful plants.

  4. It is OK to leave it in water most people do, I have mine in soil.

Alive and well for about 8 years.

Change the water at least once a week. It only needs enough water to cover the roots. If that is an inch that is OK. But once a week is enough. Some people do it much less.

It will do great in your room.

No sun, bright lite please, mine is in the bathroom with no window.

Mine is about 3ft tall, I keep it cut back, new pieces make great gifts.

I have moved it to every room of my house at one time or another.

    Additional information:

Since water contains no nutrients per se, the best care for lucky bamboo plants includes the occasional use of a dilute solution of plant food. Without soil to buffer the fertilizer salts, the roots are susceptible to burning if the solution is too strong. Use any standard house plant food at about one-tenth the recommended dilution rate each time you change the water.
