Well technically im perfect with my forehand but the problem is i would like to turn my forehand into the sort of forehand where i can let rip . I mean i hit with sooooo much topspin that sometimes i can't seem to flatten it out like an arrow.

is there Any exercises that can strengthen the forehand side or any tips on turning my forehand into a weapon e.g.hitting more flat/arrow type forehands?

Thank you for ur answers, if any. Coz this question i doubt many can help with.

  1. i wouldnt worry about it because your forehand is soooooooo AWESOME!!!!!

  2. You shouldn't change you're forehand, the way you decribed it it would be a real good weapon. But if you trying to develop a winner or to confuse yourself oppenent it fine. You don't need "muscles" in tennis, you need explosive power. To make this happen you need to use you waist, legs, wrist, arms, into a swing. I'm have a teamate which resembles your forehand. I rally with him, the way he hits a flat is by jumping towards it and aim slightly downwards then before. I'm a natural power baseliner so I can't really decribe how to hit a flat but I know the waist and leg would help. If you still want to build muscle on the arm then go for the chest and shoulders.

click the link and look at what i circled in red.

when you go to return using a forehand, your ultimate goal is to have that part directly facing your opponent when you make contact. if that area is tilted up or down instead of flat, it will angle the ball.

practice swinging with this technique, and don't forget to follow through, by bringing the racket across your opposite shoulder. its not just a stupid routine - it gives power to your hit.

make sure you aren't using your wrist to return a forehand.

  4. Watch Zheng Jie, the chinese cinderella story of wimbledon. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TIvdeL1w7... Her forehand is very explosive, and strong, but it also still contains lots of topspin. Try to not brush up on the ball as much, and firm up on your grip, and then try and swing a little more straight, down, horizontally, just over theeee net, and bam! :]

  5. the key is t0 c0ntact the ball realli far in fr0nt 0f u.... imagine painting a wall, the brush isnt next 2 u but in fr0nt 0f u, thats where the racquet sh0uld be... try it....

    An0ther way 2 impr0ve is m0mentum... hit thr0ugh the ball s0lidly and m0ve f0rward... this generates HUGE p0wer if executed c0rrectly...

And remember t0 give ur best every single time u play, it is vital 2 ur impr0vement.... f0cus...

    G00d luck! ;-P

  6. just keep working on top spin and your serve will dominate there is a type of ball you can buy they are called top spin balls and they are like really light balls and they help you with your top spin
