i have no idea what to do..

"solve for y; find the value of y when x = 3."

-6y=10-15

55) 4(3)-2y+6=0

12-2y=-6

-2y=-6-12

-2y=-18

y=-18/-2

y= 9

56) -(3)=4y-6

-3+6=4y

3=4y

3/4=y

Just replace the (x)s with 3.

Remember that when there is a number before the x (like, 2x), that means you multiply.

So..

2(3) + y = 8

6 + y = 8

y = 2

-5x -2y = 8

-5(3) - 2y = 8

-15 - 2y = 8 (here you can change to positives to make it easier)

15 + 2y = -8

2y = -8 - 15

    = -23

y = -11.5
