  1. First of all sorry that your dad had to go because of cancer, but...

Since it was a two year battle talk about his determination and his persistence and how it inspired you to do everything to the best of your abilities.

    Hope that helps

  2. I’m really sorry about the loss of your dad. When writing about something personal, write from the heart, you can’t go wrong.

I would write about lessons you learned from him, especially ones that you didn’t understand or agree with at the time, but with his passing you now understand better.

I would also write about memories of good times shared, your first ball game with him, fishing trips, camping, things that just you and he did together.

Another thing I would include is how his fight with cancer has affected you and ways you may want to honor his memory.

Journaling is a good way to work thru our grief, to put the words on paper is therapeutic. But, I wonder how long ago he passed away and if perhaps it isn’t too soon, things may still be too raw for you. It’s ok to choose another topic and keep what you write about him private or to share at a later time. Be sure to take good care of you and if things ever become overwhelming, again it’s OK to seek some help.
