Help on writing an outline to a paper?

Here's what I need to write about

"The importance of Islam to World History. This paper will be based on such encyclopedia articles as "Islam" Arabs" and "Muhammad." In In addition, other more general articles, like "Crusades" "Europe History" and "Religion" may also be consulted for your information" "Your library may have additional resource books on Islam."

I'm totally stuck on how to start on this. I can't ask my teacher because I'm doing a correspondence course for summer school (to get ahead). Can someone help me make an outline? It won't be cheating because I am not required to turn in an outline.
