My mother in law living in the UK has a Indian passport, and is going to Canada for a family wedding later in the year, any idea what forms procedures etc she has to entail to get her visiting visa. Ive been on the canadian embassy website but am unable to find any info as she has not got a UK passport. I have emailed them but it says the response will take upto 28 days, just thought id ask you clever lot as no doubt you will be quicker to reply.

Thanks in advance

  1. Vicky,

I have attached the links that will help your mom. You may send the wedding invitation together with an invitation letter and possibly a note that you will sponsor (finance) her trip to canada if she is retired. (Supporting documents) She uses her Indian Passport AND her permanent residence papers for additional documentation.

A single entry visa allows you to enter Canada only once. This visa may also be used for repeated entries

into Canada from the USA or St. Pierre and Miquelon provided you do not enter another country. Such

entries must occur within the time validated for your stay in Canada.(e.g. You may be given six months from

the date you enter Canada at the Port of Entry)

    CDN $ 75.00

A multiple entry visa allows you to enter Canada from any country multiple times during the validity of the visa.

    CDN$ 150.00

    Good luck!*

  2. hallo,

i'd advise your mother to visit the embassy herself.

    she should ask the officers.

here is the link to the embassy and consulate contact information.

  3. I'm not really sure, but is there any reason that she can't come in as a visitor? If she has a return ticket, there shouldn't really be any reason why not. Did you try calling the consulate? Try calling all the government offices in the UK, India, and Canada. SOMEONE surely will answer...

    Good luck
