I have never taken a cruise before, so I really don't know what Im doing.

First, on the cruises websight, when it says a room is $2,000, what does that mean?

If we have 6 people going, does that mean its 2,000 X 6?

Or if they only allow 3 people per room does that mean it will be 2000 X 2?

Im sorry I dont know anything about cruising!

Thanks, and if theres anything else you think I should know, im shure it will help a lot!

  1. Be sure and shop around different port, and ship 2000 per person sound very high unless you getting a suite and going on a long trip. Price wise about 100 per person per day is average. So 6 people for 7 days you should be looking around 4200$us total.

Hope this helps, you can also look for more info at this great yahoo group.

  2. The price of a cruise is always stated as per person.

  3. well it really depends on when, and where you go as to how much it cost..the same Cruise can cost double in the peek season. west coast Mexican cruises are cheapest in Jan. also where your cabin is on the ship changes the price.. first time cruise try inside guarantee..cheapest and who knows maybe a free upgrade(Carnival is good for upgrades). so if your dates are flexible you can get a better price. pricing is per person based on 2 in a cabin, 3rd and 4th persons can be added a little cheaper but things get a bit crowded on longer cruises

  4. The cabins usually cannot accomodate 6 people. I would definitely advise u to call the cruise line that u r interested in. They have very good customer service agents who are willing to explain everything to u, step by step. Save the guess work and just call them.

  5. I suggest you get a book on cruising from your library, to get an overall view of what cruising is like.  You don't want to be making decisions involving that amount of money without having some idea of what your options are.  Even if you go to a travel agent, he/she will have lots of questions for you, and you need to know what you prefer.

Prices are almost always per person, double occupancy.  The first two passengers pay the listed price and 3rd/4th passengers [if allowed in that room type] will pay somewhat less.  Rooms are very small on most ships, unless you get a suite [the most-expensive type of room], so it will be very cozy unless the 3rd/4th are kids.
