Question:

Help pay for medically necessary braces?

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get help to pay for braces? I need them for cosmetic reasons but more importantly medical reasons. It's difficult for me to eat and I often have pain. There is only 1 dentist in my area that is willing to take on my case but the fee is $6000 up front no payment plans available. I am a full time student and don't even have the income to apply for a loan. Although I qualify for financial aid, the only thing I get is a fee waiver. I badly need these braces before my problems (like severe TMD) get worse. I'm at a loss as to where I can get assistance. I'm open to any suggestions. I feel the appearance of my teeth also prevent me from getting work.

  1. Check into carecredit. It is similar to a credit card and allows you to pay the doctor up front but make payments to the card.
