  1. My friends went Cyprus the other year and that was hot.

I was in thailand the other year but think that is out of your budget.

  2. Spain in winter is cold, very cold, except the canary islands that in winter the temperature is over 20º-25º centigrados. Tenerife in the Canary Islands is a good place to go, the people is very friendly, there are nice bars, and a different nature.

  3. Forget Spain, including the Canaries. It just does not get hot at Christmas. South Africa is best for a week. It has the advantage of being on GMT, so there is no time difference.

  4. Although Spain is a fantastic place to spend at Christmas, you can't guarantee hot weather - remember, it will be warmer than the UK though.

I can only comment on spending Christmas at the Flamingo Oasis in Benidorm.

This is a fabulous all inclusive hotel (your 8yr old daughter would love it).

The Spanish really make a fuss with the children, especially at Christmas & the atmosphere's electric.

They have a fabulous fiesta celebrating Christmas.

I would choose an all inclusive hotel as your spending money is then used to spend, rather than have to buy food/drinks etc...

Close (walking distance) to the Flamingo Oasis was Aqualandia (huge water park) & Mundomar - this is a must if you have children. The dolphin show was so impressive (I & my family were there 2 weeks ago). & not forgetting Benidorm Palace - fabulous cabaret show (cost millions to produce)

As with Benidorm you can also take the ferry over to Ibiza/Majorca or the many boat trips to the beautiful towns/villages along the coastline.

Lastly, don't forget many "older" Brits take to Spain during Nov-Mar because of the warmer climate.

Where ever you go, it's got to be better than spending Christmas inside, stuck infront of the TV watching repeats! lol

  5. I think Australia has good weather that time of year!

  6. I've heard Lanzarote, Puerto del Carmen is a good place for family holidays and will be one of the hottest places in Europe at Christmas time.
