  1. 28'C? really? when?

To be honest, that's likely for possibly one day in the year, if that.

Most of the year, the whole of England is pretty cloudy, with rain due at any second.

Cornish beaches are nice, but be prepared for the wind, clouds and rain.

If you're looking for a beach holiday and can afford to go further south, do so.

Personally I like English holidays, if only to play on the 2p machines

    ---edit---

your link points to Cornwall in Canada...

    try this instead http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/5day.shtml?...

  2. a brolly is no use in Cornwall - it would get blown inside out ... take a lightweight waterproof instead

the temperatures you give are OK for max daytime temp, but be prepared for it to be cooler than the range you give (maybe down to 18-20 degrees)

by the way the water temperature is cool - a lot of people going into the sea in Cornwall wear summer weight wetsuits, you know, summer shorties, that kind of thing

  3. Alert, Alert, Alert!

The link you gave is to Cornwall, a town in ***Canada***

    Not the county in England.

See below for Bodmin, a town in the middle of Cornwall, UK

If you think 28-24 is too cold, brace yourself.

We're going through a wet spell just at the moment but, even more than in the rest of the UK, the weather can change FAST.  Pack a bit of everything.

For a Brit, anything over 20C is comfortable (if it's not too windy), anything over 25C is hot.

If you are used to more, it won't feel that way.

Cornwall's wonderful.  I deliberately moved here last year.

And we have some great beaches for surfing, lazing, walking and sandcastle and dam-building.

And yes, we do get 29C days... You just can't always predict them. Sometimes in the summer a high gets "stuck" over the UK, for a long dry hot spell, but "three hot days and a thunderstorm" is also a common pattern.

You do need to give thought to what you'd want to do on a non-sunbathing day.

  4. It depends what your used to, if it's normally 35 where you live you will be wearing jeans and a jumper, if its normally 15 where you live you will be strutting your stuff in your bikini.  And just because that may be the average, don't expect to experience it!  Come prepared for rain, cold, wind and heat waves, because any or all might happen!  The sea in England is always cold, and you may well not want to swim for this reason.

I might point out that your link is actually to Cornwall in Canada.

    Truro is one of the main towns in Cornwall, which is a county;

  5. Yeah that's good for England!! Take a cardigan or something!! Weather's **** at the moment though! Where you from?

  6. It's too cold

  7. 28 is good for us, warm enough for the beach, anything above 32 is unbearable in my book, anything below 22 and I grab my jacket, anything below 15 and I grab my coat.

  8. Don't forget your brolly

  9. cornwall is a typically surfing beach, when its hot in england in boiling, but when its cold its very cold, but by all means come over and check it out, even if theres horrible weather the pubs are bloody brilliant! x
