State the central question that the work raises. Support your assertion that this IS a question raised by the novel through references to plot, character, setting, and other literary aspects. Be sure to use several passages from the work to support your assertion.

  1. 1 - What is the novel about in general.  In other words, a book can be a specific story, but what is the "moral of the story," or what can be learned?  Does the good guy win?  Does the bad guy learn his lesson?  Jane Eyre is a romance novel but also shows the power of integrity and remaining true to yourself, as an example.

If Jane Eyre is about integrity, what are three pieces of evidence?

1 - Jane leaves after she finds out Rochester is already married, even though she doesn't want to, 2 - she could marry Rivers but she does not feel love for him, so she doesn't.

  2. Ok say one of the novels is "To Kill A Mockingbird" one central question is about racial prejudice. Support that through what happens in the story, a black man is accused of rape just because a white girl said he did.

That is a simple example. And it is a great book, if you've never read it.

    Hope that helps. goodluck.
