  1. I do not know of any in the US.  Most tack shop owners know how to fit a saddle as do saddle makers.

A better goal may be to look into western saddle making but the need in the UK may not be there.  On the other hand you would have little competition and I know that there are other people on Yahoo answers that live in the UK that actually ride western and have trouble finding tack.

Of course western tack is all I know and have no knowledge of english, yhough I do own an Aussie.

  2. i saw something saying an adverage owner spends £160 on tack etc

    proffesionals spend £6,500 a year

actually have a look yourself so you can pick out the keys points you nedd but i think they are is short supply depends where

  3. There will always be a demand for a good saddle fitter - and for every good, experienced, knowledgeable saddle fitter there are five people who can cripple a horse as soon as look at it!

The best place to go for information is the Society of Master Saddlers - http://www.mastersaddlers.co.uk/ - they run courses and apprenticeships. You have to have three years experience to qualify as a saddle fitter, and 7 years to become a master saddler.
