Help please!!!! Urgent!!!!!?

I need to write an essay quickly on a book that I have not read. It is for a history class (Storming Heaven by Giardina).

There is very little information about it on the internet, summary-wise/no sparknotes or cliffsnotes. The prompt for the essay is my choice, though, which makes it better. What are some ideas of an essay that I can write which would be quick and fairly easy for not having read the book?

I was thinking of chosing three quotes from the book and explaining their significance and how they relate to historical context.

Any other suggestions?

  1. Generally, one must read a book to write an essay on it. Teachers are pretty good about figuring out when you haven't. At the very least skim it so that you can intelligently answer questions your teacher might have for you!

  2. What about commenting on the narrator style -- is it an unnamed narrator or someone in the story? Are they speaking in the past tense about something that happened a long time ago, or is it happening as it is being told? Compare the first few pages and the last few pages -- is the narration style the same?

Another idea would be to compare the number of chapters and the length of the chapters. Is there one or two chapters that are very short or very long?  Maybe read them and comment on why you think the author chose to deal with those subjects in this way.

Another idea would be to analyze the book's title and try and find analogies in other sources to using words like storming and heaven. What is the author trying to convey by using those words? What other book titles use similar phrases or similar combinations of words?

    Good luck. Hope this helps.
