Is there an easy way to do this?? We are on a budget and have to do the job ourselves. The ceiling is white and the wall color is brown. The ceiling is vaulted.

We can't seem to keep a straight line and sometimes the brown paint ends up touching the ceiling.

Is there any way we can do this and make it look nice?? Thanks for your help.....

  1. Blue painter's tape is almost always the way to go to stop paint from getting somewhere it shouldn't be.  It's best to apply in long strips to make as straight a line as possible.

  2. http://ontheweb.colors.at

you can get much information in this website, If you will check anyone blue link in website.

  3. You can use painter's tape. But, don't rely on it. If you don't have a perfectly flat surface, some paint will get under the edge of the tape.

The best way to do it, seriously, is to have a steady hand and a lot of patience. Also, use a very small brush (1/2 to 1 inch wide) and go about a foot at a time. Then come in later with a 2-inch brush to complete the edge before finishing with a roller.

I have a knack for cutting in corners. When my wife and I painted our house with colored walls and white ceilings, she was amazed at how straight a line I could paint. I've also watched the Mexican painters we hired to paint our rental condo and they could do a perfectly straight line about as fast as someone just feathering in a corner.

  4. Normally you would paint the ceiling first so that you won't splatter on the walls and you should still do that except for the edges of the ceiling. Paint the walls next getting just a little of the wall paint on the edge of the ceiling. Make sure it is dry then put up the blue painters tape along the top of the wall. It is easier to put it on the wall than the ceiling and you can step back to make sure it is straight. Now go back and paint the edge of the ceiling down over the edge of the tape.Use the blue tape rather than regular masking tape because the blue won't pull of the paint underneath it when you remove it. Done and perfect.

  5. The blue painters tape should keep the paints apart, but it takes a bit of work to line it up all around the room.

Check out a paint store, or Home Depot or hardware store. They do make edgers for this kind of work, and they aren't expensive and are easy to use. They have too small wheels, that guide you, and prevent the paint, from touching the ceiling. Just don't overload the paint pads.
