  1. OK,,, I just can't resist.

    You only need one foot to stop, but you must press the brake with it.  

    Distance to stop,,,well,,,if on a test, it's 200.  If in the real world, it's 2 seconds.  Allow at least 2 seconds between you and the car in front of you.  At low speeds, this is a small distance, at faster speeds, this is a greater distance.  It's much easier to count 1 mississippi, 2 mississippi when the lead car passes a sign, than it is to estimate feet.
