Help please :( health/pregnancy question

Question

well first off..i'm trying to conceive my first child, i started my last period around july 4th, tried VERY hard to conceive july 16-19, (fertile days i hope), and expected my period on aug.2, on thurs (july 30?) i had some pink spotting (also friday) and on saturday, aug 2, my period came as expected, but only lasted maybe 8 hrs, kinda heavy which is normal, but the 8 hours was not, it usually lasts 4 days, the rest of saturday, sunday and monday i had some brownish pink spotting, and also menstrual like cramps and sore b*****s the whole week before my period (usually only happens the day before on my normal period) by the way i took a home preg test on sunday morning which came up negative, and today i suddenly have a horrible cough and chest pains, i dont see how all of that could have came from the cough so is it just a completely different symptom, and maybe i'm pregnant or? i have a dr. appt i'm just looking for comments, advice, suggestions

home pregnancy tests are very reliable and, combined with the fact that you got your period around the normal time, i think it is very unlikely that you are pregnant. rest up, see your doctor, feel better, and try again next month. good luck!

A few women are asking the same question that you are. I had the same thing except the coughing and chest pain. I even had the sore breast. I ended up not being pregnant just a abnormal period. It broke my heart. I even argued with the dr to get a blood test done. I then waited a few days took another pregnancy test that came back neg. So i just decided to wait  another week or two to see if there was any more problems that would come. It went back to normal. I am fine the obgyn said. I am sure everything is ok. I know it will break your heart if you are not pregnant, but  maybe you are.. Good luck let me know if you have any other questions :)

do not make any assumptions until you have seen your doctor. but maybe the bleeding was just your period showing up earlier and shorter, it has happened to me before, i had my period for 2 days and it stopped, my doc told me it is normal and some times it happens. our bodies act different in each cycle depending on so many diffrent issues and things that happen inside us.

I don't think the cough/chest pains has anything to do with whether or not you are pregnant.  I would wait a couple more days and take another pregnancy test.

did you take an hpt just in case? maybe you should, and it's great you're gonna see the doctor, in the meantime you can also ask a doctor online for free for advice, try fertilityties.com
