Talk about the following:

global warming and how it will have detrimental effects on the human population in the near future (just make it sound scary)

bio-diversity (basically that we have a duty to preserve the abundance of life on our planet)

we need to preserve, as best as we can, the earth we have today so that future generations may have an equal chance at success.

To answer the "challenge of progress" part of it, talk about how we will not be able to change anything if only a few people act. We need the cooperation of the world to truly make a difference. Use the most recent TIME special report for quotes. There's some powerful stuff in there man:

Turn off all of ur lights and people should throw away all of there trash so it doesn't go into the ocean and how people need to get more involved in cleaning after themself
