  1. home, no duh=P

  2. the best bet would be a center  because the have more of a routine than a home daycare and a the center they will have more children there age and they will each be in there own classroom  with  a home they wll have mixed ages and a bigger Chance for a more serious injury

  3. i would suggest a home center becuase it will be home away from home ( for the kids) and im sure you as a parent will feel comfortable with your children in a homely environment.  They can also interact with children their age.

  4. Hey... I would most defiantly put your children in a center, there are so many more activities and resources that your children's teachers would have accesses to.  The home daycare settings can be good, but are limited to the things available to them.  For example, in the summer I'm sure that your center will be going on field trips and have special activities for the summer.  Also, it would be a great way to get your daughter acclimated to a more school like enviroment in preparation for kindergarten.  I have been a preschool teacher in a center for 2 years and have worked there for about 4 years proir to that with other age groups.  I tried the whole nanny thing but I was so board.  I felt there was not a lot to do in a home setting, and the socialization is so important for your child's development! Also, what happens if your home daycare worker is sick, then where do your kids go then, at a center there is always someone to cover if your child's care giver is sick.  I  hope that this helps!  Good luck in your decision!

  5. IF YOU HAVE A FAMILY MEMEBER ASK THEM CAN THEY DO IT......

  6. I recommend a daycare center. They can be a little higher priced than the home-based child care, but the benefits are huge. Kids learn social skills, how to follow direction, how to work in groups, and are exposed to a lot of new ideas and experiences. They'll grow plants, maybe raise a tadpole, paint, draw, go on fieldtrips. Just do your research carefully. And if you get a "bad vibe" from a place when you visit for any reason, trust your gut. Good luck!

  7. Aww, I say have somebody baby sit at your home or at theirs... I hate daycares... they aren't able to spread the needed attention to all the children in their care. And ages 2&4 probably love attention. They do need somebody however that can give structured activities and a playful time. But I don't like daycares, other kids are rude, pick on them, some daycares are dirty, with all the perverts out there that you hear about on the news... NO I would definately say find a trusting person that you have known previously if possible...

    Or somebody HIGHLY recommended...

  8. I would definitely recommend a daycare center. While it is probably more expensive, it's worth your money. I suggest just showing up at a school and asking for a tour -- don't make an appointment. Directors do that so that they can make sure everything is in its place and there is enough staff by the time you show up, and it should be that way ALL the time.

In the long run, it will benefit your kids. They get to socialize with children their own age, they will learn all kinds of things (some of the things we teach the kids in our school, I didn't even know!) and most schools provide snacks and lunches.

  9. I would suggest daycare center.

They can interact with other kids and have fun.

  10. Read things on this website to help you choose a quality center:

    http://ecs4kids.org/parent_svcs.html

My preference is home care for infants and quality child care centers for preschoolers.

  11. I have 2 children ages 10 and 7 and I would definitely recommend to have a sitter come to your home and keep your schedule. With the money you will be paying, you should at least get some real "childcare".

Daycare centers are understaffed, overpopulated, have so many germs(Kids stay sick all the time-ask other moms who use daycare), provides little to no educational play/time, no 1 on 1 time, have too many conflicts of interest and are usually staffed by young teenage girls who have no children and know nothing about taking care of children.

I am sure several people will attack my answer, but I have been there, and experienced from inside and out. I worked in 2 different daycare centers and most parents would be appalled to know the things that go on behind closed doors. I have had terrible experiences with my own daughter in daycare. The care just isn't that great.

I suggest to search your family for a good candidate and then go to friends who you trust. If none available then put out an ad at your children's doctor office, dentist, MOPS meeting, church and set-up interviews and have a list of questions that you feel is important to you and your family. Interview each applicant and select the person who is best fit for the job. For the first couple of weeks I would drop in unexpectedly just to "check on" things. Have this person over for dinner before and after they begin caring for your children to see how they react with your children and also to see how your children react to them!

This way you know what your children are eating for lunch, they can still socialize and have interaction with other children(park, plays, libraries, MOPS, church, playdates) and you can request that your sitter read to them, play with them, put only educational shows on the television, let them color and so on. They are your children and you should be the one in charge of how they spend their day!!

    Good luck!!

  12. i say daycare center because they are toddlers younger then two i say family daycare which is what i used to run

  13. i would say a home daycare...i am a provider and it is easier on the kids to just be kids here at home...its like their home away from home...trust your instincts and interview a couple providers to find the right match for all involved...good luck!
