if i must simplify the expression then if i do -6(5+x) + (13x + 1)

then would it be -30 + 6x +13 x +1= -29 + 19 x

  1. no you must preserve the negative of the -6(x), making it

    -30-6x + 13x+1 = 7x - 29


  2. Um no because a negative times a positive is a negative to it would be, -6x. And then you would add that with the posative 13x giving you 7x. So the answer would be...

    -29x + 7x
