  1. Tell us what his name and location is and maybe we can help using trick we've learned along the way.

  2. Give out the name, birth certificate details, census details and anything else (marriage & associated info from that ) & see what someone else can come up with.

EDIT:What about the "Hearnist Jones" in the 1861 census on Ancestry?.Age 1 Boarder with Thomas & Charlotte Stock at "Cottage" Churcham Gloucs

There is also a  23 year old daughter Eliza in household.

If you need further help, then use www.rootschat.com, giving all info, including census transcripts and references.

  3. One of the family trees posted by another subscriber of Ancestry shows that Ernest's mother was Emily Brown, born 1849 in Gloucestershire (which made her just 10 or so when he was born?!).  It has her parents as Joseph Brown (1811-1873) and Mary Dubberley (1812-1898).  Unfortunately, it shows no name or details on Ernest's father.

Another family tree shows Ernest's birth date as June 3rd, and shows his marriage to Agnes, but does not show information for either of his parents.  It does show Agnes' parents, however, as George Barnes Smith (born 1839) and Sarah (born 1842).

Please note that these are necessarily factual, but might give you something to go on.

    I hope this helps!
