Help please... write a linear equation for a line that goes through (5,-8) and (-9,-8)?

  1. First: Find the slope of the line you are dealing with. Do this by taking (difference of the 'y's)/(difference of the 'x's). Then: Write the equation in point slope form. use one of the points and the slope. (y-y1)=m(x-x1)

    Solve for y and then you're done.
