Help pleease!! Have a very big prefect problem?

So, i was on facebook then a girl i have on my friends list sent me a message saying "all prefects have to be at the gym today at 1:30" now i did try out last year (interview) but i never got an email or any notice that they had accepted me...I guess i was accepted right? should i phone the school and ask? (school doesn't start for one more week)
