  1. I am a home school mother of 5 and I find that motivation can be hard sometimes, Lets face it we are at home and there are many distractions, other things we would like to do. Sometimes our school work suffers just because we are burnt out. My best advice would be to take a break, try doing a unit study or research a subject you enjoy for a short time. Then you can get back to the daily subjects again with a fresh new outlook. Really like all things in life sometimes you just have to stick to it and trudge ahead. Evaluate why you aren't feeling motivated and see if you can change things a bit, so that your routine is different. Everyone needs a change now and then. Also make sure you are taking short breaks between subjects so that you can relax and start the next subject fresh. Good luck

  2. I was homeschooled from 2nd grade until I graduated last year. It definitely can be hard to get motivated, but the thing you need to realize is: motivation doesn't just come to you. You have to make yourself get motivated. Do you WANT to graduate? do you WANT to have the chance to go to college, or even graduate from college? Those things won't "just happen" it takes persistence and, yep, motivation. They won't happen unless you are motivated throughout highschool.

The way I stayed motivated was by sitting at my desk and just doing the work. No skirting around it. Just pick up the books and MAKE yourself focus. No one else in the world can make you do it. No technique will make you get motivated. It's a choice. It's your choice.

For some people, it helps to take short breaks every hour or so. My brother is that way. I am not. It depends on the person and I'm the kind that will get distracted during those 15 minute breaks and will never get focused again. Experiment; see what works for you, but remember that only you can decide whether or not to be motivated.

I wish you all the best!! :D

  3. Not sure how old you are, but try getting into a routine.  For example: get up at the same time everyday and set a time each day for when you will do schoolwork.  Then take a 1/2 hour break for each hour you work to start.  Wean of your breaks if you can.  You may need to break up your work into smaller bits so as not to get overwhelmed.  We've been homeschooling for a long time and have tried many different things through the years.
