  1. Get to the vet immediately! Her metabolism is shutting down. Small animals are very good at masking their symptoms. When they become lethargic, thin and cold, they are extremely sick. The vet may be able to treat her, and if he cannot, he will at least be able to put her to sleep in a humane way so that she is not suffering.

Do NOT use any home methods of putting your hamster to sleep. It will haunt you for the rest of your life and you and especially your hamster really deserve better than that. The cost of treatment or putting her to sleep is a very small price to pay for her love and the time you had together and you will have the peace of mind of knowing you did everything a responsible pet parent should do.

  2. First, how old is your hamster? The lifespan is only 1 1/2-3 years, so it's possible yours is just at the end of its lifespan, in which case there really is nothing you can do other than keep it comfortable until it dies.

Next, check the room. Is there a vent blowing directly on the hamster? Has the temperature had a drop of more than just a few degrees? Is the room kept cold? If so, the hamster could be going into hibernation. Hibernation is often deadly to hamsters. You can warm them up with a heating pad or a hair drier. Giving them warm sugar water often helps as well.

Finally, is your hamster's rear end wet? If so, it has wet tail. The other symptoms sound very much like wet tail. It is nearly impossible to get a hamster over wet tail. It can come from stress, other hamsters, or unclean conditions.  The best thing to do is clean the cage and supplies thoroughly with bleach then rinse it very, very well. Give the hamster new, fresh litter, and keep it in a warm place with a towel covering the cage.  Carrots sometimes help with wet tail. Good luck.

  3. I am not a vet but here is what I would

She is cold so get a blanket and hold her...don't squeeze her to much

If she can't move don't make her. She could be hurt and you could hurt

it more. Actually DON'T PICK HER UP!!! Just put a  blanket over her and get to the vet asap! dont leave her stay with her

  4. She probably has a fever. Diseases are very effective to rodents.  Have you gave her something she was allergic to.  Go to a pet store and ask what this could mean and the solution to it.  For a more thorough and informative answer, wait 'till the vet are open, but I would still go to the pet store.

Hope your hamster lives! Good Luck!

PS: Oh I am so sorry for your hamster.  I wrote the thing above the PS sign 'cause your hamster still could have lived.  I answered another question from you after the sad thing happened. Please check it out.:(

  5. she sleeping hibernating

  6. When my gerbil died it did that it was beacuse he had swallowed plastic that he chewed off his plastic igloo it got stuck in his throat he died that night. cry cry

    May Relf Rest in Peace

  7. How cold is it in the room? Sometimes these hamsters think it is winter and go into a "hibernation state" Many pet owners think that their hamster is dead and buries them alive. Turn off any fans or air conditioner. If nothing happens in around 1 hour call the vet. Is it below room temperature? If it is above or on room temperature call the vet.

  8. If You keep her warm put a warm hotwater bottle underneath her and keep her topped up with fluids she should recover well

  9. Put her somewhere warm, but not too hot. check again between 5-10 mins, but if this isn't working keep an eye on her, and see how shes acting. If it gets worse, go to a vet asap.

  10. phone the vet

dont cry around the hamster because that could make it feel like there is something wrong.

keep calm and act like you normally do around the thing

if it is dying, and u dont want to pay the vet to give it an injection, you can

    1. Put it in a sock, put the sock in a plastic bag, place the end of the sock over a tailpipe of a truck. This will make the hamster go to sleep and it will be a peaceful death.

    2. Take a bunch of tylenol (the white disc kind) probably 10 tablets will work, crush it up, put the crushed tablets in the hamsters water and let her drink it. This will also be a painless death.

  11. hamsters do this sometimes . move it somewhere warm

  12. when can you make it to a vet! get her out of drafts!!!
