  1. There is almost no such thing as a false positive on a home pregnancy test.  It doesn't matter if the result is faint. These things never look the way they do on the commercials or the packaging!  Pregnant is pregnant.  If you really want to re-test, go ahead and get another test.  If the cost of the test will bring you peace of mind, then by all means, ask her to take another one!

The faintness doesn't have anything to do with twins.

If your wife isn't already on prenatal vitamins, it is time for her to go ahead and get some.  They are available in the vitamin section, usually on the bottom of the shelf.

    Congrads!

  2. How exciting for you all!  You can pregnancy test 7 days after a missed or short period for the most accurate result. Looks like you are both right on track with good timing in having sexual intimacy before ovulation as your sperm can live for five days in the womb. Make sure you track the first day of her last period as you will need this information for estimating the due date. Best wishes, G

  3. WELL as i see it she has a big chance to be pregnant.sperm lives in a women body for about 3 to 4 days as i read..but she could be,good luck try retesting in a few days.god bless

  4. She is pregnant!! Congratulations! I am newly pregnant (9 weeks 4 days) and have noticed that I have been getting little fevers as well, but if it is over 102 I would call a doctor. But a faint positive is a positive, that is what I got with two home tests at 3 weeks pregnant as well. If your dad is a fraternal twin, then there are some chances of it, as only fraternal twins are hereditary, saying that though-it does happen. My doctor explained that we could get a positive so early because I have a strong pregnancy.

  5. If it's a faint positive, then she is probably pregnant...get a few more tests and see!  The same thing happened to me - I was so excited!!

  6. it is possible that she can be pregnant and get a faint positive as early as she has without it being twins. I had mine at 12 DPO and I'm now almost 21 weeks pregnant with just the one baby. sounds more than  likely that you are going to be a daddy congrats to you both.

  7. a faint line is a postive . but she should take another test in a couple day , the hcg levels might be strong enough....

  8. She would be 8 days pregnant if she ovulated the 29th, not 3 weeks.

If she ovulated on the 29th, she would theoretically be ***8 days**** pregnant, not 3 weeks. Where is she getting that? Conception occurs at ovulation, not 2 weeks before it. Implantation, when the egg attaches to the uterus and the body starts to produce pregnancy hormone, therefore making tests possible, is 7-10 days past ovulation.

8 days is too early for a test to be any kind of accurate. It would be too early for symptoms, and high fever and sore legs aren't signs.

As I understand it, fraternal twins genes are passed thru mitochodrial DNA (mother) so your father having been a twin doesn't mean anything. If he was an identical twin, it's not genetic anyway. Identicals are an anomoly and not genetic.

Don't get too excited. You only have a 20% chance on any given month to concieve when timed correctly. It may take some time. If she gets freaked out, she will throw off her schedule and make it harder and getting a negative after convincing yourself you're pg is heartbreaking.
