My stupid and obnoxious sister in law is getting married in October in Hong Kong. I live in Montreal Canada and I don’t want to take a 20 hour flight just to be at her wedding. But if I don’t go, I’ll p--off my wife and her family. I don’t want to see this nasty and selfish girl even if she is next door, let alone spending $$ and a 20 hour flight to see her. What should I do?

  1. I don't know if you can avoid this one.  If your wife wants you to go, then you are expected to go as a respectful husband.  The only think I can suggest is to make a trip out of it.  Take some time of if you can and go to HK a week or so earlier with your wife.  Then just grin and bare it on the day of the ceremony/reception.  But at least you will have enjoyed your vacation in HK prior to the wedding.

  2. Ask your boss to demand your presence on the ay of the weeding

  3. Be a man. Say you're not going and thats that!!!

    Otherwise, feign illness.

  4. Visit Hong Kong. Family is family so it's up to you whether you attend the wedding or feign illness and play tourist in Hong Kong but at least your wife and family will believe you had the right intentions.
