Help re-decorating my daughters room

My daughter is now three years old. Her bedroom has been decorated in the Disney Princess Theme since she was in a crib.

She never really got into any of it, and latelly has been taking the items with the Disney Princess' out of her room and saying she doesn't like them.

I'm getting ready to re-decorate her bedroom. However, I do not want to go with a theme such as Dora, Ponies, Zoo animals ect ect. She doesnt really get into cartoons ( yes so true ) she would rather play outside, play games, or do arts and grafts which I am perfectly fine with.

I've been looking up ideas for Toddler Rooms. I can only find ideas that are theme or a bit out there. I need help ???

Please no rude remarks or nonsence

  1. If your feeling very artistic have you throught of a murial based on the out doors like green hills, flowers and trees painted on the walls. paint the ceiling and go slightly down the walls in a sky blue colour and put on clouds and birds. You could also do life size  drawings of your family and both of you paint them and put them on the wall.

Or maybe get your daughter to decide what coulour she wants the room and maybe decorate it with her art work.

  2. I say let her pick it out. Sometimes kids don't want a theme but a main color. When I was a toddler I loved the color pink so my mom made a pink theme which my sister who shared a room with me loved because pink is her favorite color. Now that I think about it, it's funny now because my favorite color now is black but if your daughter likes the color blue make a blue room. If she likes pink get a pink room. If she likes all the colors just get her a multi-color bed set and let her cover her walls with her artwork. It would look so cool. Hope this helps.

  3. I would definitely check out "Land of Nod" That is Crate and Barrels kids stuff.  It is a slightly cheaper version of pottery barn kids but every bit as nice looking and on the page as far as style goes.  I think no theme will be much sharper looking.

  4. try hgtv girls rooms look under rate my space good luck

  5. You want to go with a theme that she can grow with.  Find bedding that you really like and take it from there.  Paint the walls a lighter shade from the bed spread.  Hang framed photos of your daughter, other family members or something related to the theme.  You can get fun little rugs to scatter through the room, hang curtains instead of closet doors and get tons of storage for toys.  You can always change the room up by replacing the pictures, getting new curtains or rugs.  I once found a fuzzy hot pink rug in the bathroom dept. for my daughters rockstar themed room.  Be creative and have fun!!
