Question:

Help recording an audio track?

I have Sonar 3 Producer Edition (Yes I know, it's a little bit out dated). I'm doing a cover from another band, so I have the song running in the back as I'm recording on the audio track. My problem is; The audio track picks up the song in the back as I'm recording, I found that out after I got done recording the audio track. I just want what's coming from the input only, not the song in the back.

I don't want to mute the song all together, otherwise I will have trouble playing it because I don't know what comes in where by heart. So I just want what is coming from my input, nothing else.

I have a Creative SB X-Fi sound card, so I don't if that will help.

It's getting annoying really.... So any help will do.

  1. First you gotta just nip it in the bud. Then you gotta say "wtf mate". Call the service center and ask for Bruce Wayne. Then be like "Well hey buddy, I need to um record a track for a cover. Because it's cool. So help. Bye"

Everything should work fine after that.
