Question:

Help regarding a very faint positive line on an EPT test? Does this mean that it really was a positive test? ?

I was a month and a half late when I took an EPT test. There was a very faint positive line and of course the visible negative line. Does this mean that the test was still positive? I'm taking another one tomorrow because now I'm 2 months late sept 4th. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

  1. Because your 2mths late for your period you shouldnt need to use first morning urine, they say first morning urine if your testing before your due period but your late so it shouldnt matter,as far as i'm concerned a faint positive is a faint positive and to me that's a pregnancy.I don't know anything about the EPT tests we don't get them here in australia i would try another brand and see what that is and go see doctor good luck.

  2. Sounds like you could be pregnant but like you said re-take the test in the morning using first morning urine.

You should try not to drink and hr before bed and don't drink whist you would usually be sleeping just so you can have the most concentrated urine sample for testing.

Also if that is still hard to read you might want to get a digital test that says "pregnant/not pregnant" and then there is no guessing with the lines.

  3. Try first morning urine...that will give you the best results seeing as you haven't drank much of anything all night.  A faint positive could mean your HGC levels are still low..or that your urine was diluted.

Good luck...I hope you get the results you want!

  4. If your 2 months late just get a blood test and you will know for certain.

  5. well most do say a positive is a positive no matter how faint so i would say you most likey are pregnant and the fact you havnt had your period is promising. best thing to do would be go and see your doctor and explain and they will be able to help you. best of luck :)

  6. Congratulations!!!  I had an incredibly faint line and nine months later gave birth to the most beautiful baby girl!!!

  7. Retake the test one more time, using FIRST morning urine; that's you're best chance of getting a positive at this point.  If you get the same result, I would consult a doctor.  Good luck to you!

  8. I've seen this before in my own tests.  There is usually a faint positive line and a very very very visible negative line and I was negative.  However, you have not gotten your period for two months maybe you don't have enough hormones-HCG to pick up.  I would just call the dr for an appt.

    Hope this helps!
