Help remembering a toy?

Question

I need help trying to remember a toy that I used to play with in the late 80's early 90's in Ireland. It was a space toy that you could build different space ships from the pieces. It was not lego, the pieces were bigger. They had little men that could fit in the vehicles you could build. I tried some generic searches but found nothing. I believe it was a UK toy and was not available in the US. Any ideas??
