Example; the code for Chicago Ohare is ORD, so it's an ORDinary airport.

I have to remember about 50 of them. I am stuck on:

BDL-Hartfort CT

TYS- Knoxville TN

CVG- Cincinnati OH

PBI- West Palm Beach FL

  1. BDL is Bradley International.  That is why it has the code it does.

TYS I have no idea.  Someone probably has a reason for that code.

CVG is because the airport is not really in Cincinnati but in northern Kentucky.  CVG stands for Covington.

PBI I would guess is Palm Beach International.  That is how I would remember that code.

  2. BDL - Badlands

    TYS - Tys that bind

    CVG- Cin Very Good

    PBI - Palm beach Invasion

    Good luck!

  3. ORD is not so hard to remember if you know it was originally known as Orchard Field (for then  fruit trees it displaced.)

As noted, BDL is derived from Bradley, and CVG refers to where it actually is.

Why do you need to remember 50 of them? It's easy enough to look them up when needed.

  4. (Mike) TYSon Knox people out.
