Help removing a substance of a vinyl dash board of a car

Question

when we bought our car someone before has put a air freshner on the dash which has left a sticky tacky like you would get from a foam sticker , what can i use to get this off with out damaging the car ?

There's a product that removes adhesive from surfaces.  I'll walk out to the garage and get the name of it for you.

It's called "Oops", I bought it at True Value Hardware, but you could probably get it at Wal Mart or just about anywhere.

It comes in both spray can or leak-top bottle.

Most solvents will enable you to remove the residue but the stronger ones may also damage your dash!

Take 3 small pieces of rag, the first with ordinary White Spirit on it, the 2nd wet and with a drop of washing up liquid, the last just wet.  The WS will remove the residue, the soapy one removes solvent traces and wet one reomoves the soap.

Try a little WD40 on a duster, once removed, clean the whole dash with a cockpit shine or similar.

alcohol, finger nail posh remover, rub it with your finger nail,, a wash rag and soap and water
