  1. Run a virus scan at boot. I'm not sure if any of your anti-virus programs allow this. If not then get Avast Home Edition. It's Free and is constantly being updated. All you have to do is enter the unlock key that they email you.

Once you have that installed schedule a boot-time virus scan, reboot, and let it work its magic.

The virus may be recopying while your system is still running so running a scan before your OS starts should fix the problem.

Hope this helps. If not look up that specific virus on yahoo or google for additional information.

  2. Click start, then run, type in msconfig and click ok.Go to startup and uncheck everything but your norton and your firewall, click apply and then ok. It will ask you to restart, restart and then go into safe mode and run your scans.

  3. Run the virus scan in safemode instead and clear your temporary internet folders. Follow these steps and do both of them:-

    1. Close internet explorer, click on start, control panel, internet options, delete, delete all,(check) also delete files and settings stored by add-ons, click on (yes)

    2. Restart pc and before your pc logo comes up eg. dell,hp,gateway etc. press (F8) repeateadily until you see (safe mode), use arrows (up) and (down), highlight (safemode) and press (enter). Don't do anything until pc finish loading. After your pc finish loading run a full scan with  norton antivirus. When it's finished restart pc normally. Hope this helps!
