At least he's knocking some landlords come in anytime they want to "check things out"

He can knock as much as he likes but you dont have to let him in.  He should give you 24 hrs written notice to enter the property, unless it is in an emergency.

Ask him politely to stop.  I don't think being an arshole is against the law.....
