Question:

Help required for light problem at home !!?

The light in my living room suddenly went out. It's not a light bulb problem because it still doesn't work with new bulbs. What should I do?

If I hire an electrician, how much can I expect to pay?

Would also appreciate any contacts for a good electrician. :)

  1. Hello Cheso:

A home visit from an electrician will cost you around $100. Depending on the problem, it will go up.

Have you tried the circut breaker box?

Is there a light switch that controlls the living room lights?

Service Master will locate an electrician for you. visit

You can also look in the phone book. Unless you personally know them, don't go with a "cheap" guy who works out of the back of his truck, If his work isn't good, you may not be able to find him again. It will be more expensive to go with a company, but you can be sure that the work is guaranteed, safe, and correct.

  2. Did you check for a blown fuse? Are you sure it is still plugged in? Make sure the new bulb is good. Put it in another lamp and make sure it is good. An electrician can cost up to $65 an hour.
