Help ;; senior project?

hi , im a senior in hs. i need help looking for ideas of senior project . so far all i know i want is a topic that has some sort with psychology . the topic has to have two or more concepts. i sort of have an idea in mind. i can learn how to use sign language & that would tie into psychology by non verbal movements. but i wouldn't know what to research on . b/c i know im not suppose to research on sign language it itself & im not suppose to research on how to do it . i want to go broader in it .

can you do research on how to communicate with non~verbal children who do not know sign language? we had a non verbal child in our pre-k class who did not know sign language, we had to start from scratch working with this child because only one person on our staff knew sign language

You could research sign language and language acquisition.  Language acquisition is studied by developmental and child psychologist.  You could look at the critical period for the language development.  You could even include some info on Koko the gorilla who knew sign language, and talk about how language is learned and how learning sign language differs from aquiring normal language.  There are a lot of studies on language, and it's really interesting as well.  There are a lot of directions you can go.  If you need more, let me know, and I'll look in some of my books and give you some names of researchers to look up.

You could look into the sign language used by KoKo, an ape that was trained to use the ASL.   How KoKo communicates with the researchers is very interesting.  It also ties into psychology.
