Help seriously help i am PETRIFIED from thunder storms?

mainly i am scared of the noise what i usually do is i cover my ears so i wont hear it that helps a little but my ears kinda hurt after i am done and also i am scared of tornados and hurricanes mainly cause i have never been in one and from watching the news they make it look soooo scary

  1. That is unfortunate, you are terrified for no good reason. To me, a thunder storm is very enjoyable, I love the sound and the light show. The chance of being injured in one these displays of nature is so remote that you really must learn to relax. Hurricanes and tornadoes are something else, you are not alone in fearing these events, seek cover and remain indoors in the lowest part of the house, stand in a door frame and wait it out.


  2. If you're in a grounded building, you should be fine from lightning. If you're outside, stay low. The lightning goes for things that are (a) conductors, (b) high. So holding a metal umbrella is not a good idea, nor is standing under a tree.

    If you're in a car, you're fine, as long as you stay in it- the metal body forms a "cage" which strongly diverts the lightning away.
